In a competitive local market like the Lake Zurich area, a generic "template" website makes your business look like everyone else. That can be fixed with a custom web design as well, but not everyone needs that, nor likes the cost increase it brings.
My Webflow development service offers a "blank canvas" approach, to build you a stunning, pixel-perfect website that is 100% unique to your brand, and create a premium first impression that instantly builds trust and sets you apart from your competitors.
Google’s ranking algorithm rewards speed, and users won't wait for a slow site to load. Webflow uses enterprise-grade hosting to deliver your content quickly.
I optimize every element from image compression to SEO, to ensure your business ranks high for "near me" searches and provides a frictionless experience for every visitor.
But, there is a catch...
One of the biggest pain points for small business owners is having to call a developer just to change a price or update a blog post. With the intuitive Webflow Editor, you can make content updates directly on the page in a "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" interface.
That way, you are empowered to take control of your own site, and save you the ongoing cost of maintenance fees.
Although to be critical, I suggest you choose WordPress over webflow or anything like it, such as: Squarespace or Wix. They can all make a website, but the problem with many of these other services are the lack of freedom you get with them. For example, if a worker there with a chip on their shoulder sees you said something they don’t like: they can kick you off for whatever reason (have fun finding that buried on page 18745 of their terms of service). Then you have to remake your entire site all over again.
Things like that have been happening to people for years. Whereas with WordPress, you can ”take your RV, and live somewhere else” if it ever happens on your host. You own your own home, and nobody can kick you out. With the others: you're COMPLETELY at their mercy...
Some business owners migrate to Webflow because they are tired of the security vulnerabilities and "broken" updates common with other platforms. Although this is a generalization, there is no perfect system anywhere.
Webflow handles SSL certificates, backups, and security patches automatically at the platform level. That means there are no third-party plugins for hackers to exploit as easily as something open sourced... So this closed-system approach has it’s benefits, but anything can be hacked. It happens to anyone who stores sensitive numbers all the time, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either stupid, or they’re lying to you.
The WordPress community is also very large, and even the worlds top companies like Sony Music even have WordPress sites. So if it works for them: what’s the problem? Your real choice is: pay once for long term freedom, proven reliability, and "a house you own"... Or pay once, but risk ”getting kicked out of your own home”, and having to pay for a new "house".
For those reasons, certain security practices are always done by people like me, with the intent of mitigating, and denying any possible damage done by a hack. So with proper security practices on WordPress: you have nothing to worry about, and WP would be my first suggestion for the needs of most people.
IMPORTANT: everything below is subject to payments being made on time, and prompt communication. We will establish those details once we come to an agreement. Also, here is a recent video of me, for a site where I sell kefir grains, in case we meet in person for any of this.
Contract vs. Email: everything is subject to your project requirements, but HUGE projects usually require a small contract in plain English. A typical contract for a large project is about 2-5 pages, but small projects like a basic website can be done through an agreement by email (no fancy contract). It all depends on what you want, but you must pay in milestones as I describe below. Also, if something is NOT in our agreement (via contract or email), then it isn't included in my services. So be clear with what you need, because I only charge based on the specific services you ask for. Anything beyond that may increase the price (though if it's super small and within the scope anyway, I'm probably okay without increasing the price).
Payment milestones: there are usually 2-3 milestones where you pay. They're usually done in 1/2's or 1/3's of the total project price: first to start, second on first draft, and third upon completing everything in our agreement.
Payment types: I accept Cash in USD, Zelle, Credit, Debit, Check, Money Order, Cryptocurrency, Gold, and Silver.
Discounts: you get 5% off if you pay with Cash, Gold, or Silver. All others are 5% more. If you want the discount, we'll meet at a local library room or something similar, and I'll give you a receipt as proof of payment. Although if you do Gold or Silver, I will want to test them first in front of you via sound, weight, and shape.
Time to start: physical payment methods also get me to start the project immediately. Anything else may have a hold until the payment clears (usually 3-7 days).
Time to complete: subject to your project requirements. You will get this in our agreement.
